The cockle (Cerastoderma edule) is a species of saltwater bivalve mollusc. The oval, ribbed shells are white, yellowish or brownish.
 There is a wide range of sizes. We typically sell a medium-sized cockle.

 The cockles we sell are not produced on the “Ilha dos Puxadoiros”. If, due to availability issues, they cannot be sourced from the Ria de Aveiro, they will certainly be sourced from the Portuguese coast. Their origin will be identified on the label that accompanies them, also attesting to the adequate purification of the product.
